The following material has been provided by Dick Hilfiker and with the permission of Everett Hilfiker.
Everett and Bernadine Hilfiker toured Germany and Switzerland in 1983. They visited the city of Kolliken in the Canton of Aargau. There the Gemeinderschreiber (District Scribe or Recorder) provided the following photocopies of pertinent Hilfiker family records.
Everett and Bernadine Hilfiker conveyed the following to Mildred (Mrs. Raymond) Hilfiker in a letter dated December 8, 1983.
Dear Mildred, We had a wonderful trip to Germany and Switzerland – Sept 25 to Oct 9. We rented a car at the Frankfort Airport and covered the Black Forest Area of Southern Germany and pretty well covered Switzerland. It was quite an experience and most enjoyable. Only problem is the long airplane ride. Am enclosing a copy of the record of the Hilfiker great grandparents and also the eight children of which the 6th -- Bernhard was our grandfather. The 4th child was also named Bernhard but died as an infant. Those with no death date recorded either moved to another jurisdiction or immigrated. Thought you might like to see it and/or Dick may be interested. We are looking forward to all three girls and families being here for Christmas. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year. Love Everett & Bernie
